How are lab grown diamonds created?
Lab grown diamonds are created using two main methods: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). In HPHT, a diamond seed is placed in a press and subjected to high pressure and high temperature, which causes the carbon atoms to arrange themselves in the diamond crystal structure. In CVD, a gas mixture containing carbon is introduced into a chamber, where it is broken down by a plasma or laser and deposited onto a substrate in the form of a diamond.
