## The Dutch Marquise, our signature cut

A Dutch Marquise is an elongated hexagonal cut diamond: a long, narrow, six sided outline whose
straight angled sides meet in pointed ends at each end of the stone. It is not a variety of the
marquise cut. The two share a long silhouette and pointed ends, and that is where the resemblance
ends: a marquise has smoothly curved sides, known as the navette outline, while a Dutch Marquise
has straight angled sides, so the outline reads as an elongated hexagon.

The Dutch Marquise is cut for brilliance, with symmetrical facets arranged to maximize sparkle and
fire, which gives it a chunkier flash of light. That is what separates it from our Elongated
Hexagon, which shares the six sided outline but is a step cut: parallel step facets and a glassy,
hall-of-mirrors flash. Labs certify geometry rather than marketing names: on one real IGI report
for a Dutch Marquise we sell, the shape line read "Hexagonal Modified Brilliant" (IGI report, 2026).
